The hotel has two parts:the 1st classic is 3-star hotel, the 2nd standart-is 4-star hotel, though the price taken is the same. The director herself gives 4stars to some rooms, located in the classic building, explaining that they changed some furniture in the rooms.Th service leaves much to be desired. The only plus is the location of the hotel:2-minute walk to the lake.

In Hotel Spa Heviz we came 19.10.2019. at 15 hour. We went into room, changed clothes and at 15 hour 30 minutes we left room and go to swim on outside lake. All our personal things we left in the room number 324 . We returned to our room at 18 hours. We were 3 persons in the room. We left hotel 20.10.2019. at 11 hours. My friend Nada Brkljačić carrried 500,00 euro (10x50,00 Euro). She also had 2.000,00 kuna (4x500,00 kuna). Hotel bill for costs of accomodations 250,00 Euro , I (Krešimir Copić) paid on the reception. When my friend (Nada Brkljačić) came home she spotted that she missed 150,00 EUR (3x50,00 Euro) and 500,00 kuna. It was stollen in period while we were bathing in the lake and while bag with wallett was in hotel room.

Warning: the people of this town do not take kindly to foreigners. If you don’t speak Hungarian, Russian, or German and you visit Hévíz, be prepared to deal with hostile receptionists, waiters, and fellow tourists. The spa was no different; the woman at the front desk was incredibly rude, and the other vacationers at the spa were as well. It’s just not worth the headache. Regarding the facilities: it stinks to high hell, the thermal water was too cold to swim in (we visited in January), and the whole place was dirty and unkempt.

Went there in March 2017, out of season. Rented a room facing the lake, for an extra sum. Well, it turns out that the lake almost cannot be seen from the room, only a construction area right below. And they charge extra for this. I got a coupon for 1000 HUF to use in the Nimfa bar. Well, it turns out the bar was not open, and the receptionist was suprised, saying, he will tell a colleague to open it. Well next day I saw the bar open. It was without music and atmosphere. Just a cabinet with drinks. Who wants to go to such a place??? Then the TV channel list had half the channels not working.... The spa at the hotel interior was very small, much smaller than the pictures would suggest. Appx 6 meters by 6 meters and full of people..... The food only got to 4 star level on the weekend. And the waiters had to be called to, otherwise they did not jump to the task of serving the guests at first. But after writing into the Visitors Book, things started to change. They even greeted me when they saw me. Should be standard for a paying guest.... So don't forget to write your suggestions into the book. However the free entry ticket to the lake spa was very good. The room was good also. Otherwise I would give the hotel max 2-3 stars for lack of service and discipline towards guests. I got the hunch that the service personnel live off the tips they get, and earn the minimum wage, that is why they do not care.... This would be a great hotel, if the service personnel could be trained to provide that little EXTRA a tourist is looking for. They could give some music at the reception, some traditional pictures on the walls, turn it into a Hungarian delicacy.... Located just next to the lake, it misses the big opportunity big time. Tourists would just flock to the hotel if this was built upon. However as the city is quite small, service at the hotel quite bad, tourists can just walk 5 more minutes to get the proper service they need. I would call this place the finest example of Hungarian entrepreneurs missing the golden opportunity shining into their very eyes. And to think about it that this lake is special in Europe, and with the ultramodern spa building in the middle of the lake...... Its indoor swimming area of this modern building almost looking like a car garage which is flooded. Well, gentlemen, THIS IS THE REAL HUNGARY for you.

There are much better hotels in the area for the price, if you really really want to go to Lake Hévíz. (Which wasn't that great anyway...) Good: - Staff were nice - Bathroom was Clean Bad: - Multiple insects in room, including spiders moths and flies. - Elevator was old and didn't work half the time. - Food wasn't that great and the restaurants atmosphere felt more like a care home.

Lovely complex over a lake. Being English, it was a bit surreal to my girlfriend and I. Seems very popular with older people, but was generally very pleasant and relaxing experience. Water wasn't too hot or Grundy, but would definitely recommend you bring a float with you. The saunas/spa were generally a bit disappointing, half were turned off when we were there in August, with only two (not that) hot pools

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Literally 3 minutes from the lake. The staff is very professional and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The meals are in a form of a buffet with a wide variety of choices. All on all I highly reccomend this place!

I would give it 5 stars of it was a 3-star hotel, but they claim to be 4-star. As a 3-star hotel, I have no complaints about them. They are very reasonable priced. The staff is very polite. The rooms are clean, and it is the closest hotel to the lake. Other 4-star hotels in the area are much nicer inside and have better food.
