G	Gabor Takacs on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Go here for the experience not for the food. Lovely square, great location, okay food, slowish, mediocre service. I've been going to Gerlóczy for over 15 years. The square where it's located is just a magical, charming little gem. The restaurant is good for breakfast, lunch, dinner as well. The food is mostly 'traditional' with little imagination or innovation. You get what you'd expect. Unfortunately they still serve only very few vegetarian options and basically no vegan dishes. Breakfast is mediocre. Staff is kind, but very slow. They keep forgetting things and orders come in awkward times (e.g. breakfast omlett comes first ...and 10 min later the toast...).
D	Dan Farrell on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful food. HOWEVER: absolutely terrible and, frankly, offensive service. Waitress was rude and incredibly condescending. She did not come back after our meals were done; when asked for the bill (45 min after we had finished eating) she audibly scoffed and rolled her eyes when asked to split the bill in two. If you value your time and money, please avoid, there are other wonderful restaurants nearby.

I	Ivan Stefanov on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was my mistake to consider the Gerlóczy "just another" hotel restaurant set up simply to feed the hotel's guests. It is much more than that and can safely be regarded as fine dining. The chef has done wonders with the traditional Hungarian food as a foundation. A nice variety of desserts which will make you wonder how to pick only one. The house beer on tap is amazing. Not all of the staff speak very good English, but they compensate with effort and attitude. The prices are not low, but are worth it.

It’s definitely to expensive for the quality and the portions. The Spanish breakfast costs around 8 EUR. For that, you usually can eat in Budapest much better. Additionally, you are forced to pay a 12,5% service charge also in case of bad service. The Spanish breakfast took them 45 minutes to bring. The omelette was already cold and just a cut-off of a pre-cooked large omelette. Size was already really small.
