It is a very interesting historical place with figure installation telling about this hospital in different times of Budapest history. The only minus was the fact that you can only go with the tour and our tour guide was literally running through the museum. I would have loved to spent a bit more time there…

It is a very interesting place as from both of engineering perspective and it's historical role. Strongly recommend, guided tours only, available in different languages

A fantastic piece of history, well worth the visit regardless of whether you are overly interested in history. Visit to the museum is by guided tour only, so very much worth booking in advance in order to plan your sightseeing day of the castle district. Tours are offered in a multitude of languages and thd English speaking I attended was fantastic with the guide providing lots of information throughout. So pleased I came back to take the tour!

Maybe it is because It's been a long time since I have been there, but what I have read in some of the most recent reviews regarding the high price and big tour groups, that was not certainly not the case when I was there years ago. I was not expecting much when I went there, but I really enjoyed the tour and the guide gave us very interesting insights, and even though this was years ago, it is stil one of my favorite museum experiences.

A fascinating and must see hospital in the caves under Buda Castle where brave Red Cross nurses, doctors and volunteers treated at some times 600 people with only 50 staff during WWII and the 1956 revolution. Realistic wax figures, actual equipment from the time, incredible example of Hungarian ingenuity and technical skill. Our guide Timi is herself a Hungarian Red Cross volunteer and first aid instructor and she told me she loved the place. She was an excellent guide in English language. A touching and proud afternoon for this international Red Cross delegate. Don't miss it.

We had an amazing experience with the tour given by Lilla. She was absolutely brilliant. She gave us interesting facts, with a clear tone and she is very approachable to ask further questions. The attraction itself was very good and maintained well. The history speaks volumes. I would highly recommend this place.

The museum only offers group tours. We took the Hungarian language tour, due to our time reaching the museum and we were given English audio guides with plenty of information, at no extra cost. The guide was very nice and spoke in English for us too. The museum is fantastic, a must-see eye-opener into the history of Budapest. It brings to light a lot of goodness the population of Budapest did during WW2, the Soviet era, and much more. The staff is very friendly, speak English very well and I heard them speak in Italian to some other tourists too.

Starting off with a short film to explain the history, this 1.5 hour tour is 100% worth it. I’m so happy we came here. History is so interesting and the tour guide did a great job explaining the history of this place with detailed information. Only guided tour is available so book in advance.. the lower point is 18 meters below ground level.
