★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After visiting Zamardi for the last few summers, I knew I wanted to return and stay during the whole summer this year due to Covid 19 in Zamardi. Wellmarin enjoys the best location in Zamardi. The staff is courteous and professional.
The lobby and lounge areas are quite comfortable and it is an excellent spot to unwind.
Both the spa area and the shore side restaurant offer great places to relax, sunbathe or just chill. My best places are the poolside lounges, pool, Gym and the saunas. I spent most of my mornings in these areas and could feel rejuvenated. I still have not tried the massages yet but just over heard a lady giving huge compliments about the quality of massages.
All in all, I have had a very positive experience and I would highly recommend it for future travelers. I am definitely going back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well, its not a bad hotel by all means. It has top location, refurbished rooms, pool outside and inside, barrier-free access, waste separation BUT the management and the personnel has just no clue about customer service.
THE BOOKING. We found the hotel on one of the online booking service. We love to search and book online, its easy, fast and cheap way to book hotels. This hotel was sold out. I decided to ask directly the hotel, maybe only the online contingent was sold out. And... I got an offer for 3 nights, no package no discounts of course. They offer packages for 4 nights for the same price. When I asked about 4 nights it was not available, maybe at the end of 3 nights something will free up and we can stay, but the package price unfortunately cant be applied. So after half a day of email exchanges and a phonecall , I had to accept, its a take-it-or-leave-it-we-dont-care offer. We were already inbound so I uneagerly accepted the pay-more-stay-less practice.
THE PARKING. There are limited parking places in the hotel for a reasonable price which have to be pre-booked in advance with car registration plate so that you get automatically through the gates. Wow, I thought and sent it them. Unfortunately, parking was only available for first day, better than nothing I thought. Upon arrival, I was told the parking was full. When I insisted I got an email an hour ago, it became available, but costed the double of what I was told before. They gave me a link to a website of a local municipality parking service, where I could book own parking tickets if I wanted to. Thats not a four star service by all means, why the hotel is not booking it for the guests and add it to the bill? It went relatively straightforward and quick, but maybe not so easy for some foreigners or elderly people.
THE DINNER. You are served by personnel (its a COVID precaution), but only applicable to main dishes, the soup and desserts you can pick on your own... So you queue up !!! for each dish, no social distance, no face masks (by guests), you have to tell how many potatos, cauliflowers and what sauces you would like to have on your plate. This was quite a shock. The dinner is served in 3 timeslots to reduce the queue time, we took the last one to avoid children and crowds, unfortunately they run out of some food by the 3rd timeslot. Occasionally there was no soup or no plates or no bread, but the waiters were busy taking orders for paid drinks rather than filling up the dishes. On the other night a waiter passed by our table 10x without taking away the finished soup bowls. We didnt ask him to do so, just by curiosity when he notices that we have no room on small table for other dishes. So we ordered soda with lemon, hoping he cleans up the table. He didnt, pushed the dish aside and placed the soda without lemon on table. We asked him 3x about lemon, eventually after 20mins. He brought it, we were finished by the time.
WOULD I RECOMMEND? Not for everyone. If you are very tolerant and not put off easily by ignorance and rules you may still enjoy your stay. But its a pity that owners do not educate, incentivize and expect the same level of customer service from employees as the otherwise "luxury" property and its price would justify. For me that was disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are used to true 4 star accommodation, skip this place, it's a disguised under expensive rates but a true disaster!
We Paid 800 euros for two nights at this hotel, it's comparable to a 3 star hotel at best. We left the second day because it was raining and the indoor spa is so tiny, our swimming pool is the same size at our house.
When we told we are leaving early, their first response was "YOU KNOW YOU HAVE TO PAY FULL PRICE RIGHT?". So rude. Untrained, young staff who were not thought how to act at a supposed 4 star hotel.
The food is appalling - 2 stars at best. They had two tables where they served you food like at the school cafeteria. The selection was minuscule. The chicken under cooked. The quality horrible. Bread was dry and aged, only white available. They don't have a kids corner, or kid friendly options. It's damp and dull, there's no background music like at typical 4 star or 5 star hotels.
The only positive was the sleep quality in my opinion. The room was ok, we had a 2 bedroom suite for our family of 4.
The common areas are tiny and give you that cramped feeling. Overall, quite the disappointment.
As frequent travelers abroad, this was by far the worst 4 star hotel we've ever been to. They'd be lucky if they received a 3 star hotel designation in a true audit.
If you are a person who enjoys luxury and 4 and 5 star hotels, do not go to this hotel.
I know they are taking advantage of the COVID-19 situation and ripping people off, but my goodness. The rates they are charging for the stuff you get is OUTRAGEOUS!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is about rules and not about making guest happy. Typical sentences during our stay :"outside pool is closed due to wind for your safety" or "sorry, I can't make that drink" or "sorry, I have no idea I started working here 2 days ago" or "you can't check in before 15:00 even if your room is ready". If you like hungarian hospitality a little bit overpriced this place is yours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visit for the anniversary. The restaurant's breakfast dinner is a waste of money. The restaurant would like to change the chef. Unlike the hotel star, the food is really....Oh it's been a while since I came to Hungary, but it's not as good as the traditional restaurants. Because it is a 2-star level, even the world's four-stars are rare. And it smells from water. The pool staff are not friendly. It smells in the sauna. Outside swimming pool staff are poorly trained. Why can't beer be on a windy day? It's a waste of the 4 star. This is close to 3 stars to 2 stars. Try a 4-star hotel. Do you get this food and service!!!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chaos in client services and especially low speed of service in the bars and other facilities when more guests arrive. Unclear communication re potential extra charges and lack of respective control. The hotel is trying to make a profit from extra charges like the management of towels and charging fees for the absence of plastic cards even the towels are in place.
There are a lot more other hotels at Balaton where there is real customer focus.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This hotel is definitely not worth the money you pay. I would highly recommend looking into other hotels. Our bathroom smelled so bad, I could barely go in there without vomiting. During the first shower the whole shower cabby basically fell apart. The room was very small. The SPA? underwhelming at best. The apparently warm water pool was cold, I could not spend time in it. We asked for another towel (a dry one) and we were denied. Please, if I am spending this much money I can't even get a dry towel?!
The food was not bad, but the selection was minimal. Not even sure what vegetarians do there, all I saw basically just salad. Our waiter was super unprofessional, an about 18 year-old big mouth guy who had no idea how to be professional.
I definitely do not recommend, and we will not be back...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all, this wasn't the first time we have been here. Last time it was 2019, and I can't tell that how many times I recommended this hotel to my friends and relatives, because I was so satisfied and happy with the service, with the room, with the selection and the taste of the meals, but not this time. ?
They couldn't keep up unfortunately.
There was confusion regarding our parking and with a baby bed, that we booked with the hotel the day before we arrived.
The housekeepers didn't clean our suite, so I took our used towels and change to new once when I saw their cleaning trolley on the corridor. On our 3rd day, around 4pm, they come and cleaned our bathroom mirror and emptied the rubbish bins.
The food selection was almost the same every evening with some little changes.
There wasn't a proper salad or vegetarian selection. Mainly just pickles.
The pool was lukewarm and dirty.
In the bar, the staff was very kind, that's why the 3 stars and not 2.
Unfortunately this was iur 3rd, but the last time we visited this hotel. ?
Very disappointed.
