Hungarian-Romanian-Ukrainian Tripoint - Garbolc

An asphalt bike path leads to the landmark on the embankment. By car from Garbolc you can stop closer across the bridge, from there you can walk.

The destination of my bike tour was the triple border. Together with smaller detours, I did 77.2 km. My route started from Fehérgyarmat, from the railway station, on the route Zsarolyán-Jánkmajtis-Darnó-Kisnamény-Gacsály-Rozsály-Méhtelek-Garbolc. Seeing the residents, I preferred not to stop either on the way there or back. The embankment leading to the triple boundary was covered with a fresh layer of asphalt, still almost steaming. It couldn't be older than two days. The triple boundary is clean, visibly well-groomed, though one of the slats on the bench is broken, it should be replaced. Behind the Túr border mark, a small path leads into the forest, where the Ukrainian border stands in our way, and the Ukrainian Túr border mark can also be seen from the border line. A beaten path leads there, but I would emphatically draw everyone's attention to DO NOT GO THROUGH !!! That border sign is already on Ukrainian territory, so whoever crosses it will make a PROHIBITED BORDER CROSSING (as Ukraine is not a member of either the EU or the Schengen Area), which, if caught by Hungarian border police, could cost the renitent fifty thousand forints. ! If the Ukrainians catch the adventurer, they will most likely be brainwashed, then taken to a nearby branch, and after being returned to the Hungarians, the check will also come. So it's not really worth the risk!

It is a very pleasant place, the meeting point of 3 countries, I can be very careful not to go beyond the barbed wire, because it is already Ukraine. And meeting with Ukrainian border guards can be uncomfortable. It is an easily accessible place, through Nagyhódos to Kishódos there is a bike path on both banks of the Tour. A good one and a half km from here, next to a farmhouse, is the headstone of the eastern point.

Too bad we don't have an access road and I had to bypass so far to get here. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person.
