A Fekvő Katona (Pásztor János) hivatalos nevén a Névtelen katona az ismeretlen hősöknek,áldozatoknak állít emléket,1939-ben helyezték el. Az 1950-es években tilos volt a szobor koszorúzása,majd a 60-as évek elején áthelyezték a katonai köztemetőbe. 1989.szeptember 16-án újraavatás alkalmábóll került ide vissza az eredeti helyére. The Heroes Memorial (János Pásztor-Rezső Hikisch) commemorates the victims of the First World War, which was placed in the gate of the crypt of St. Stephen's Cathedral in 1929. Lying Soldier (János Pásztor) officially named The Anonymous Soldier commemorates the unknown heroes and victims, and was placed in 1939. Wreathing of the statue was forbidden in the 1950s, and was moved to the military public cemetery in the early 60s. On September 16, 1989, he returned to his original place on the occasion of re-opening.

Nem is nagyon értettem ezt a típusú ábrázolásmódot, mint egy ravatal. Ugyanakkor a kezdeti meghökkenés után, alaposan megnézve, tetszett a már-már világitó mészkő szobor kidolgozása. A névtelen katona sokakat jelképezhet, így ha emiatt méretes, akkor hálából megérdemlik a hősi névtelen harcosok. I admit, up close to me, the huge lying figure, this sarcophagus-like creation, was a little shocking to me. I didn’t really understand this type of representation as a coffin. However, after an initial amazement, on closer inspection, I liked the elaboration of the almost illuminated limestone sculpture. The anonymous soldier can symbolize many, so if he’s big because of it, he deserves gratitude for the heroic anonymous warriors.
