II. Rákóczi Ferenc 1676. március 27-én a Zemplén megyei Borsi kastélyban született. Apja, I. Rákóczi Ferenc választott erdélyi fejedelem, anyja Zrínyi Ilona, Zrínyi Péter horvát bán lánya volt. 1717-től Rodostóban élt, 1735. április 8.-án bekövetkezett haláláig. Hamvait 1906-ban a Kassai dómban helyezték örök nyugalomba

II. Ferenc Rákóczi was born on March 27, 1676 in Borsi Castle in Zemplén County. His father, Ferenc Rákóczi I, the chosen prince of Transylvania, his mother was Ilona Zrínyi, daughter of Péter Zrínyi Croatian Ban. He lived in Rhodes from 1717 until his death on April 8, 1735. In 1906 his ashes were laid to rest in the Cathedral of Košice
