Nevéhez fűződik többek között az első villanymotor megalkotása, az öngerjesztés elve, a dinamóelv első leírása, és a csobogó alapötlete: a szódavíz magyarországi gyártása. Jedlik Ányos bencés szerzetes, természettudós, feltaláló a győri bencés gimnáziumban oktatott, élete jelentős részét Győrben töltötte, a dinamó elv felfedezése mellett nevéhez fűződik a mesterséges szénsavas víz előállítása, a szikvízgyártás megalapozása. Ányos Jedlik, a Benedictine monk, a naturalist, inventor of the Benedictine Grammar School in Győr, spent most of his life in Győr. Ányos Jedlik, a teacher at the Benedictine grammar school, was a naturalist and inventor in Győr. Its name is also associated with the production of artificial carbonated water and the establishment of brackish water production. Jedlik was said to be the first to dilute the wine with soda water and "invent" the splatter.
