I’d give this place a 0 if I was able too. We are here on vacation and read some amazing reviews, so we planned on coming all week. We walk in and they tell us they are full. We can clearly see that there are open tables. So I say, can we wait for an “open” table? And she says no. RACISM AT YOUR FINEST. This town is full of racist people who can’t seem to get over themselves and open up their minds.

I asked for a medium done double angus steak which was said to be 400 grams, what I got was two thin slices of totally dry and overdone, tough and chewy beef, full of indestructible sinews and chunks of fat, maybe not even 200 grams altogether. I managed to have my worst lunch of the year. They should find or train a chef who can make steaks. Total disappointment.

Great food, acceptable price, quick service

Couldn't fault the service and atmosphere of this pub/restaurant. Had a delicious steak and a couple of bottles of wine. Nice night all round.

interior is what you await from a pub. food was mediocre for the prices. steaks were dryish and gulash watery. one thing what was not okay that they charged 10% tip without asking. guess they make it only with tourists like us.

After reading mixed reviews about this place we decided to go anyway and simply avoid certain items off the menu to avoid disappointment. The weather was wet so we liked the thought of a covered terrace, and some outside heaters. We only received half (!?!) of the menu to choose from, but we chose anyway. Food arrived but after waiting ages to complain about stone cold fries with my 400g burger. After no service staff came outside in at least 5 minutes I ended up walking them inside and asking for some fresh ones before my burger got cold too. When the new fries finally arrived there was no apology at all for the wait, but the fries were at least hot. Next was the burger. 2 big meat patties so size was fine but they were soooooo overcooked and dry. Very disappointing. Coleslaw was an okay side dish though to help moisten things up. In short I expected more from my 3,390 Ft burger. I mentioned the dry patties to the waiter when asking for the bill and he said he'd see what he could do. Nothing, obviously. 10% service was of course added to the bill. All in all a disappointing experience. Service times and attentiveness were also sadly lacking. Would not recommend as there seems to be much better and nicer options in Győr.

This was my first time (and actually spontanious) in any of the John Bulls. The service and the quality of the food was way beyond our expectations. Had 2 soups from Chef’s choice, both were much larger than expected, so we could only have a starter instead of main food for second. Everything was perfect, great value for money, cannot wait to return and try something else.

Cozy place, interesting decor, they had a few board games. I got the shrimp spaghetti and it was quite delicious.
