Incredible baths in a historic setting. Beautiful Ottoman dome with warm pool underneath. Cold and hot baths, steam and sauna. Perfect!

This thermal bath has an ancient and magical atmosphere. Precious material and marble, different steam and rooms, jacuzzi. The ticket is less expensive than the other croudy thermal baths. Here you can totally relax and release your stress. You can make a deal with God.

The atmosphere in this bath is something unique, worth visiting just for it: old and/or actually a bit run down. The water is so good too. And if you go Mon-Fri 9-12 you get to enjoy the bath at a discounted price (1400 Ft, cheapest ticket in Budapest). Unfortunately, it gets quite busy at times, even during working days. Since a while now there are works outside, but they won't interfere with your visit. Not sure if there's any renovation being done or planned, it would almost be a pity if this was the case. Remember that children under 14 are not allowed in.

Ancient place with a big 36 degrees pool. It is a n everyday mixed public. You do not need reservation. It is to go back in history. Not expensive and they have studenta discounts. it is a non touristic “you must go” . It is not necessary to pay for a cabin, a loocker is good.

This place is pretty basic and dated, could well need a renovation - but this adds to its appeal, it takes you back to a different era. There is one big medium warm pool, a small very warm pool and a cold pool in the main chamber, a warm pool outside and a Jacuzzi. Also two small sauna rooms and a steam chamber. Worth the visit if you don't need it posh and polished.

I have only been to one of the private chambers of the bath, not the general areas so my comments and photos are only about this experience. It is very good experience for couples. Always keep in mind that reserving the private chamber may not be very easy but it is worth it. Don't expect a nicely furnished, luxuruous area from this historical bath. Just enjoy it as it is just like the old timers.

We tried to go Saturday around 16:45, but didn't want to wait around for thirty minutes for folks to (maybe) leave. So we vowed to return in the morning on Sunday, and if there was still a wait.... Well, it worked out. We got there about ten. No line, no wait. It was pretty much as advertized. Old turkish baths. One large pool, one small 40°C pool for 8-10 people. Steam room, two saunas. We kept walking around trying to find the lockers, not knowing we had to go past the first aid area and the guy who appeared to be fast asleep from the time we got there until we left at noon. The only hydromassage is in the six person jacuzzi, and the water isn't that hot. I actually appreciated the old pools better. Of course, there's the 26°C pool, too, but that's one I personally never use. I'm there for the heat!!! None of the structures have pools over 40°C!!!

We asked a work colleague, originally from Budapest, about what to do when in Budapest. They immediately told us about the famous Hungary Thermal baths, which are also considered medicinal. This got us researching online to try and find the right one for us. Some are really touristic with huge swimming pools outside and others or more historic. We decided on Király Bath, because it felt authentic and less touristy. According to Wikipedia it was the first bath built in Hungary, from back in the 1600’s. Today, it still retains many of the key elements of a Turkish bath, exemplified by its Turkish dome and octagonal pool. This thermal bath is located on the Buda side in a quiet neighbourhood. Though it has a really old structure, it’s quite beautiful with a medieval style. There are basic and cozy change rooms, depending on your budget. It's well structured, the staff are nice and we felt comfortable during our visit. The majority of the pools are inside, with temperatures varying between 26-40C. We found a small kind of hot tub outside that we couldn't resist. We enjoyed more privacy in the morning. 10am is when it started to get crowded so we left because at some point there were a lot of people. In general it was a great experience and we left feeling relaxed. We thought it was a little too dark inside and small for the amount of people, otherwise we recommend anyone to visit Király Baths! Serge: 4 Eli: 4 Do we recommend ? Yes, it’s a really historic building and we had a cool experience. Tips: 1-) If you can get there early morning you will get more privacy; 2-) Bring beach sandals; 3-) We paid around $ 7.59cad (Morning ticket with Cabin included) 4-) Check their website for open hours and there is an information that the baths cannot be visited by children under 14 years old. 5-) If you have some free time and a little more budget you can also get some massages.
