Der ungarische Name ist wortwörtlich übersetzt "die Träne der Maria" (Máriakönnye) auf serbokroatisch "Wässerchen" (Vodica). Es existiert seit ca. 300 Jahren und das Interessante ist, dass hier nicht nur die Katholiken sondern auch die Griechischortodoxen beten. Es ist ein friedlicher Ort direkt neben der Strasse. Es gibt eine Marien-Statue, eine Kapelle und zwei Quellen, aus denen Wasser tropft. Auch Deutsche besuchen diese Weihestätte. Am 9. September 1973 wurde die Kapelle eingeweiht und die Messe hat in 3 Sprachen stattgefunden: ungarisch, bunyevác (eine serbokroatische Mundart, die die Minderheiten in der Umgebung in Baja und Serbien/Kroatien sprechen und Deutsch. Der Namenstag der "Kleinen Muttergottes", gleichzeitig auch das Datum Maria Geburt ist der 8. September. An diesem Tag findet hier jährlich ein Fest statt. This is a pilgrimage site not far from Baja (southern Hungary) in the direction of the Serbian border with two springs. The Hungarian name is literally translated "the tear of Mary" (Máriakönnye) in Serbo-Croatian "water" (Vodica).
