A szobor egyrészt utalás lehet arra, hogy a dunai átkelőt 1896. október 4-én az Osztrák–Magyar Monarchia uralkodójának tiszteletére, az ő jelenlétében, róla elnevezve adták át. Szabadság híddá 1946. augusztus 20-án nevezték át. A függőágy pedig a Szabihíd kezdeményezés miatt kerülhetett a kompozícióba.

On the one hand, the statue may indicate that the Danube crossing was handed over in honor of the ruler of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy on October 4, 1896, in his presence, named after him. It was renamed the Freedom Bridge on August 20, 1946. The hammock may have been included in the composition due to the Szabihíd initiative.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mi mást adhatnánk egy ilyen csuda kis szépségre, mint ötöst? Annyira szerethető, innovatív minden Kolodko-szobor, hogy jóértelemben elfogulttá tesz minden ilyen kis műremekkel szemben. Nem csak az a lényeg, hogy mit ábrázol, hanem az, hogy hová teszi és miért? Itt a Ferenc József híd a magyarázat, meg a rajta pihenő fiatalok, esetleg hintaágyas öregek szobrai. Bár bántatlanul így maradhatnának az utókornak mindenhol!
What more could we add to such a wonderful little beauty than a high five? Every Kolodko sculpture is so lovable and innovative that it makes you feel so biased against all such little masterpieces. It’s not just what you portray, but where you put it and why? Here, the Ferenc József Bridge is the explanation, and the statues of the young people, possibly the old people on a swing bed, resting on it. Although they could remain so unharmed to posterity everywhere!
