One of the Receptionist, is a rude person. The guy. . A girl was a little more polite, but they speak little english.... ir thats what they say. There was a 3rd girl who was very nice! The rooms were big and comfortable but cleanning of the room was deficient .

It is a good value for your money in the city centre if you like the design of the older buildings. Our room was big and nicely cleaned, the housekeepers and the receptionists were kind and helpful, always smiling. We enjoyed our stay.

Stay somewhere else if you can This is not the worst hotel in the world...but it is DEFINITELY not the best, either. I lived in this city for ten years, so I'm very familiar with the hotel, and I ate in the restaurant many, many times over the years. I always assumed it was a nice enough hotel, and the majority of locals believe this to be the case as well. Sadly, it's not. The price was extremely reasonable and this is why we stayed here, as we needed a room for two weeks. I was unimpressed from the moment we arrived. The receptionist was rude. When he said in Hungarian, "I request a passport number", I shot back with, "and we request a smile", as he never greeted us, didn't want to look away from his Facebook page or whatever he was reading on the internet when we came into the lobby and wanted to check-in. He was typically Hungarian. The other receptionist was also very stoic, never smiled and when I would thank him for this or that over the days I was there, he never said "you're welcome" no nod, nothing. The one girl the first night we were there with dark hair was super friendly, but the other one with red hair was not as nice. The room smelled like mold, particularly in the bathroom, and after several nights I finally figured out where the smell was coming from since we couldn't actually see the mold. It was coming from both the tub and sink taps! YUK! Keep in mind we had to rinse our mouths out with this water while brushing our teeth, and bathed and showered in it as well. The stench was something awful and they desperately need to look into fixing this. The room itself was very big and spacious with enough room for the two of us. However, this didn't make up for anything. Aside from the mold smell in the bathroom, the TV nearly didn't work at all the whole time we were there. The remote wouldn't work at all the first three nights, and they tried fixing it several times. The only way we could charge our American phones was by plugging the USB into the TV, and then leave the TV on. Fine. This would have been fine except that since the remote didn't work we couldn't turn the sound down. Then when we were finally able to turn the sound down (after a day and a half), then we couldn't turn it up when we actually wanted to watch TV! The phone didn't work the entire two weeks we were there, and they tried fixing it as well, but to no avail. This meant that we were able to make outgoing calls, but not receive any incoming calls. I was there for a week and my mom stayed on the second. While I was abroad in another country I tried calling the hotel, and when I asked that they go upstairs to her room to tell her I was calling they were always put out and sighed deeply into the receiver not wanting to let her know I was on the line. Sorry, but this is not my problem - it's the hotel's! It's also your job...get over it. There is also no elevator and it's an enormous staircase to any room in the hotel, so if you're not in the mood for a bit of a workout, then you're out of luck, I'm afraid. The beds were comfortable however, and the maids always kept the room clean each day and were actually very friendly. The owner is also a very nice lady but she definitely needs to do some upkeep on the hotel, not just on renovations but also with her staff.

Well, the place looks nice. Resembles authentic old architecture. Rooms are nicr, bathroom is great. Caution for tourists: Revolut cards do not work, I have no idea why.

Old casino/castle transformed into a hotel, affordable prices, good breakfast and free bicycles to rent throughout all the day. In the very city center near the cathedral, and the parking lot is accesible from the back of the building. 400m to the mall, and the street is full of restaurants with good prices also.

Location is amazing, couldnt be more central. Very good value, rooms are so big and clean, bathrooms too. An old building they kept the inside traditional but the rooms are more modern. Their pub on the bottom floor nice traditional like in England/Ireland. I can only recommend this place. Thank you Korona Hotel

Value for money, it is ok, but wouldn't come back. Showerhead in the badroom is placed horrible. I'm 1.90, couldn't stand under it, the line is to short.
