★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A neves magyar csillagász, Kulin György 1949-től 1953-ig volt a Könyves Kálmán Gimnázium tanára. Vezetésével 1950 és 1954 között épült az iskola tetején a csillagda. Az volt az elve, hogy: ,,Az iskolából kikerülő minden fiatal legalább annyit lásson a távcsövön át az égboltból, amennyit Galilei látott.”
2000-2001-ben került sor a csillagvizsgáló modernizálására. Ekkor kapta megálmodója és életre hívója után a Kulin-csillagda nevet.
 The famous Hungarian astronomer György Kulin was a teacher at the Kálmán Könyves High School from 1949 to 1953. Under his leadership, the observatory was built on top of the school between 1950 and 1954. The principle was, "Every young person who leaves school should see through the binoculars at least as much from the sky as Galileo has seen."
The observatory was modernized in 2000-2001. It was then that it was given the name Kulin constellation after its dreamer and lifeguard.
