★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very affordable groceries, pastries and sweets on the first floor. Must try the langos and also the cake stall right by the entrance. Frequented by locals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great local market selling a wide range of vegetables, bakery, fruits, meat, seafood, nuts, dairy products even plants. Some stores take card but not all, there is a ATM inside the market in case you don't have enough cash with you. There are also some standup pubs and snack bars. Truly an authentic Hungarian shopping experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the market, always fresh wonderful fruits, vegetables available, multiple stands by local growers! As well fresh dairy and meat, it's like a huge farmer's market, colourful, vibrating of good energy!! Also convenient as many services also available, such as post office, city office, lottery and also clothing by many kind Chinese owners, it's always a great day coming here! Ah, and the fresh amazing bakery shops with hundreds of different products as well superb desserts, cakes, pizza, coffee and the list goes on! Highly recommended!! For lunch also with great food court!???

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Local food market. You can find all kinds of regular groceries here. There are mostly locals and barely any tourists. You won't find any tourist shops here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Mangalica pork salami, which you can only buy on Fridays, tasted fantastic.
I want to go back to buy it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The farmers/traditional market is the best kept secret in Budapest. Local grocery stores have an extremely limited selection, but here's where to go to get fresh food. If you're a carnivore like me, you can get high quality meat at what I observed were the lowest prices. In addition to the regular stuff, there are lots of sausages and organ meats. Most vendors accept credit cards.
There are some shops on the second floor, but it is mostly durable goods. Not touristy or souvenir-y like Great Market Hall. The Langos shop, located at the south entrance, is a local favorite.
Try to go early, especially on weekends. Many stalls are closed or the best stuff is gone after ~1p. The English abilities of most vendors are extremely limited, but I did alright with Google Translate, and locals are often willing to step up and help.
