★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A közelében laktunk gyermekkoromban, akkor elég félelmetes volt. De nem az emberek miatt, hanem azért mert kölyök voltam, és az alagútban csak alig-alig égett egy izzó. Amikor nagyobb lettem, sokat bringáztunk át amikor mentünk a ligetbe, akkor már nem féltem. Legutoljára jöttem át bringával, és valamelyik idióta összetört egy üveget, és kivágta a gumimat. Aztán sokáig nem jártam arrafelé, mert mindíg ez jutott az eszembe, mielőtt áthajtottam volna rajta.
Viszont nemrég átmentem megint!

We lived near it as a child, it was pretty scary then. But not because of the people, but because I was a kid and there was hardly a light bulb in the tunnel. When I got bigger, we bike a lot when we went to the grove, I wasn’t scared anymore. The last time I came across a bike and one of the idiots smashed a bottle and cut out my tire. Then I didn’t go there for a long time because it always came to my mind before I drove through it.
But I recently went through it again!
Heaven and earth for the benefit of now!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kerékpárosok biztosan jól ismerik Budapest első gyalogos alagútját, mely a Nyugati-pályaudvarba bevezető sínrendszer alatt húzódik. A "régi változat" vaspadlózata tökéletesen visszaadta a vasút hangulatát, mert amikor kerékpárral haladt rajta az ember olyan hangot adott, mint amikor a vasúti kocsik a sínek összeillesztésénél döcögnek - bár minden bizonnyal nem ez volt az építők szándéka. Mindenesetre ez már a múlté, ahogy a falfirkák és omladozó vakolat is. A felújítás alapvetően jól sikerült, remélhetően megmarad ilyen tisztának és graffiti-mentesnek.
Cyclists are certainly familiar with Budapest's first pedestrian tunnel, which runs under the rail system leading to the Western Railway Station. The iron floor of the "old version" perfectly restored the atmosphere of the railway, because when you rode your bike on it, you made a sound like when railway cars were pounding at the junction of the rails - although that was certainly not the intention of the builders. In any case, this is a thing of the past, as are graffiti and crumbling plaster. The refurbishment has been basically well done, hopefully it will remain so clean and graffiti free.
