A csesztvei emlékmúzeum a mai Magyarország egyetlen Madách-emlékhelye mely az alsósztregovai Madách kastéllyal együtt EU-s pályázati támogatás segítségével valósult meg 2012-ben. Mindkét helyszín Budapestről egy nap alatt bőven megtekinthető és még jut idő az egyéb látnivalók felfedezésére is az egykori Nógrád vármegyében. Imre Madách from December 1844 to September 1853 lived in Csestvén and his children were born here. The Csestve Memorial Museum is the only Madách memorial site in Hungary today, which was realized in 2012 together with the Madách Castle in Lower Strait with the help of EU grant. Both locations can be visited from Budapest in one day and there is time to explore other attractions in the former Nógrád County.

An excellent, beautifully furnished and well-built museum with lots of interesting things about Imre Madách. Great place, I can only recommend it to everyone!

Amellett, hogy végigvezeti a látogatót Madách Imre életútján, és az Ember tragédiája megszületésén, fogadtatásán, lehetőség van megismerkedni a különféle előadásokkal, feldolgozásokkal, sőt, egyes jelmezeket is fel lehet próbálni. Aki erre jár, ne hagyja ki ezt a helyet! This museum was an exciting place. In addition to guiding the visitor through the life of Imre Madách and the birth and reception of the Tragedy of Man, it is possible to get acquainted with various performances, adaptations, and even try on some costumes. If you go for this, don't miss this place!

It’s better to check in in advance, we were on the weekend and had to wait a bit because the lady is working elsewhere. I liked the show.

A kiírás alapján felhívtuk a hölgyet, aki - bár nem nagyon mertünk hinni benne - jelezte, hogy pár perc és jön. Nagy élmény volt végignézni a kiállítást és meghallgatni az automata tárlatvezetőt. Külön köszönjük a pénztáros hölgy rugalmasságát!!! We got here today, but unfortunately we didn’t look closely enough at the opening hours and we arrived a few minutes before closing. Based on the call, we called the lady, who - although we didn’t dare believe in her - indicated that she was coming for a few minutes. It was a great experience to watch the exhibition and listen to the vending exhibition guide. Special thanks to the cashier for the flexibility !!!
