A parodontológia a fogággyal (a fog tartószerkezete) és a fog körüli tartószövetek megbetegedéseivel foglalkozó tudomány.

A fogágy ínyből, az alatta található csontszövetből, valamint a fog gyökerét a csonthoz rögzítő rostrendszerből áll.

A rendszertelen és helytelen fogápolás és a rossz szájhigiénia könnyen fogszuvasodáshoz, illetve fogágybetegségek kialakulásához vezethet.

A helyes fogmosási technika használatával, valamint rendszeres fogápolással és fogászati szűrővizsgálaton való részvétellel azonban fogaink épsége megőrizhető, illetve a fogszuvasodás és a fogágybetegségek elkerülhetők.

Amikor az íny gyulladt, vörös és duzzadt, mielőbb ajánlott parodontológushoz fordulni. Ilyenkor nem tanácsos sokáig várni, mert a gyulladás súlyosbodik és az olyan, kezdeti stádiumból mint a gingivitisz (a fogakat körülvevő ínyszövet gyulladása), gyökérhártya gyulladás (periodontitisz), súlyosabb esetben fogínysorvadás (parodontózis) is kialakulhat, ami fogvesztéssel járhat.

Even she was offensive and started talking totally different topic. It was not a health service today, it was more a mentally unstable person (the doctor) trying to survive her day. It is not even the money but I wasted my time.

Dr. Perenyi was very thorough and professional with attention to every little detail. He discussed everything with me step by step during this delicate process and answered all my questions. He always made sure that I was comfortable during the 5-6 hour procedures. The communication from the clinic was outstanding. I couldn’t be happier with the result.
