★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A helyi lelkészséget 1794-ben állították föl, miután kiváltak a diósgyőri plébánia szervezetéből. Hámort 1801-ben plébánia rangjára emelték.
Egy új, nagyobb kőtemplom építését Fischer érsek kezdeményezésére 1809-ben határozta el a gyári főhatóság, alapkövét
1810 tavaszán elhelyezték, év végéig a falakat is felhúzták, de ekkor a bányakamara pénzügyi nehézségekre hivatkozva félbeszakíttatta az építkezést.
1818-ig még a régi, ezután pedig a félig kész új templom sekrestyéje lett az istentisztelet színhelye, a hívek túlnyomó része a szabad ég alatt hallgatta a misét.
1832-ig húzódott az új templom építése és belső felszerelése, ekkor végre megáldhatták. 1839-ben új paplakot és iskolát építettek Hámorban. A templomot 1930-ban renoválták, ennek titulusa: Magyarok Nagyasszonya.
The local clergy were established in 1794 after leaving the parish of Diósgyőr. Hámor was elevated to the rank of parish in 1801.

It was placed in the spring of 1810, and the walls were erected by the end of the year, but then the mining chamber interrupted construction, citing financial difficulties.
Until 1818, the sacristy of the old and then the half-finished new church became the scene of worship, and the vast majority of the faithful listened to Mass under the open sky.
The construction and interior fittings of the new church lasted until 1832, when they were finally blessed. In 1839 a new rectory and school were built in Hamor. The church was renovated in 1930, with the title: Our Lady of Hungary.

Tucked away among the foliage of the trees is a beautiful jewelry box in this church. a little renovation would be worth it, true, but it doesn’t detract from its beauty.
