★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very romantic, on the western coast of the huge lake Balaton, Keszthely is great really... just those mosquitoes killed me lol ? could do much better with pest control, treating the lake and eliminating the larvae of the mosquitoes.. you can take my advice as I am a pest control business owner, so it is a free advice!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Green beach, not too many people - there's always a lot of free space around. The water is not crystal transparent, but is clean (no smell). Very shallow - 50m from beach still less than 170cm deep.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went there with my family (we live in Budapest), before the Hungarian National Holiday.
We went right after a rain (previous night) and it was full with water, especially at the kids' facilities. And nobody was taking care of roving the water from there but only from the restaurants and places where you have to pay for!
Slides and swings (hintas) were in horrible situation (photos attached of the broken swings)!
Overall - big beach, however seems old and not maintained in a good condition!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love swimming here, you have to pay to get in but it's worth it. You have a section of the Balaton, with optional extras like hiring Pedolo boats, kayaks and paddle boards. Also you have trampolining, crazy golf and other activities and competitions like table tennis tournament and Frisbee throwing. There is a good selection of places to eat, drink and shop for essential beach gear. Very clean, spacious with lots to do and see. Great fun!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice free mostly, or low charge place in season, small sandy section into a very shallow and gently sloping section of the lake that is ideal for toddlers. Deeper areas and ladder access to the lake in other sections. Grass and shade available and wonderful for picnics etc.There are food and drink shacks available and clean toilet facilities. Can get extremely busy at peak times but generally a great place to take children.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place in the summer to see lake Balaton and have a beer or icecream.
Some parts of the beach are payed for, some are free. (In winter, all is free and open 0-24). In the winter pretty much everything is closed as it usually is around this lake, but a few local restaurants close by can be visited all year round. Great for walking or having a quick snack on the go. Recommended if you are in the area anyway.
