We do not know the exact time of foundation of the parish, according to a canonical visit in the middle of the 18th century, it was already a shingle-covered wooden church, blessed by Mihály Olsay's wig of Máriapócsi. In 1872, a romantic brick church was built in place of the wooden church, which was dedicated on October 13, 1883. The former church of the wooden church, which was also transferred to the new church, has now left two bishops of St. Nicholas and fragments of the former altar.
