Aki szereti a természetet és annak szépségét bármely évszakban, akkor ide kell látogatni. The Bükk Plateau is a very nice place for me. There are many hiking trails. Innentől a Bükk-fennsík aszfaltútja már tabu a motorizáltaknak. Szerintem ezzel semmi baj nincs. Így is nagy könnyebbség sokaknak, akik nehezebben mozognak ez a lehetőség. A parkolótól erős 100 méter és hipp-hopp a ragyaverte felszínű mesevilágban, a Bükk-fennsíkon találjuk magunkat. Az aszfaltcsíkon átsétálunk az Olasz-kapun és már a dolinák közt találjuk magunkat. Honnan ez a név, hogy Olasz-kapu? 1918-ban Thurzó Gáspár irányításával 18 olasz hadifogoly vágott egy rést a sziklába a kisvasút számára. Érdekes, hogy az itteni emléktábla Őrgróf Pallavicini Alfons kapujának nevezi. No, de kérem, ő se nem irányított, se nem csákányozott!
