Példásan rendezett és szép környezetben áll itt Petőháza régi tava, mely a település arculatát az idők folyamán végig meghatározta. A népi emlékezet úgy tartja, hogy az egykori vályog kitermelés miatt alakult ki a tó medre, de hogy így volt e, vagy sem, alapvetően nem is lényeges. Ma egy kis esőbeálló faház és piknikező hely is rendelkezésre áll a tó partján, a tó vizébe évente halakat telepítenek, hiszen a tó jelenleg a horgász egyesület gondozásában áll. Télen, alkalmas időben korcsolyázni is lehet a tó befagyott jegén, de sajnos erre egyre ritkábban nyílik alkalom az időjárás változásai miatt. 2021-ben a hosszú száraz és meleg időben rendkívül sokat apadt a tó vize, de reméljük ez nem lesz tartós állapot, minden esetre a környező, még elő artézi kutak vízhozamának jelentős nyári csökkenése és a tó vízszintjének apadása is jelzi a változó körülményeket, elsősorban a nyári időszakban. Minden errefelé járó érdeklődőnek sok szeretettel ajánlom, tegyen itt egy sétát, érdemes.

The old lake of Petőháza stands here in an exemplary and beautiful environment, which has defined the image of the settlement over time. Folk memory holds that the former adobe was formed due to the extraction of the lake bed, but whether this was the case or not is fundamentally irrelevant. Today, a small rain-drenched chalet and picnic area are also available on the shores of the lake, with fish being planted in the lake’s water every year, as the lake is currently cared for by a fishing association. In winter, it is also possible to skate on the frozen ice of the lake at a suitable time, but unfortunately this is becoming less and less possible due to changes in the weather. In 2021, during the long dry and warm weather, the water of the lake dropped a lot, but we hope that it will not be a permanent condition, in any case a significant summer decrease in the yield of the surrounding artesian wells during the summer. I would like to recommend it to all those who come here, take a walk here, it is worth it.
