La empleada más desagradable. No nos quiso informar del cambio. Salimos para reunir el dinero y cuando entramos, se marchó dejando un cartel de "vuelvo enseguida" y nunca volvió. Estuvimos esperando y nos cansamos de esperar.

My experience was okay but the woman behind me, who was traveling with our group, was defrauded by the clerk. It was very clever. She counted the money out of a roll but didn't lay it out on the counter, just handed the notes over. One of the notes was old money, not usable for the past six months after the government issued new notes. We found that out in the evening when the note was refused at a bar restaurant. We returned to Rania Kft City Change the next day with our guide. A different clerk was on duty, very unpleasant. At our guide's insistence she reluctantly twice ran the part of the surveillance video which showed the fraudulent exchange. In spite, it was impossible to see the actual problem note because of the way the clerk in the video managed to hide the details from the camera, real sleight of hand operation. No way to prove anything. Our guide was LIVID and threatened to call the police, but the lady who was defrauded said, don't bother, as it was only six US dollars. BE CAREFUL. We didn't know enough about the old notes to see if they could be returned to a bank, and since we departed Budapest the following day we couldn't fix it, if it was fixable. Even if the video wasn't useful this time, you can bet that the clerks are under constant video surveillance because of the temptations having to do with exchanging foreign money. I think we encountered only one of the scams. Checking the receipt on the spot is a good idea, to be sure the correct foreign amount being changed is shown.
