Az eredeti temető területe sokkal nagyobb volt, határvonala az ötvenhat mártir utca, Rárósi utca,Kutasi út,Vámház utca ,Arany utcákat is magában foglalta. Innen az Arany temető ragadvány név is, ám valójában ez a temető már régóta fel van számolva. Református Egyház lezárt temetője. A mai Katolikus Temető az Arany temető lezárása után kapta az idők hosszú során a mai formáját. Igyekszik az Egyház rendben tartani,de forráshiány miatt ez csak lassan, vagy részben sikerül.Az utóbbi időben nagy előrelépés,hogy csak néhány kisebb mellék út földes, a többi már szilárd burkolatot kapott. A Ravatalozó helyiségben is történtek változások. Távlati tervekkel között szerepel pl: kultúrált mosdó,wc,közvilágítás kiépítése,valamint kamerás megfigyelő rendszer telepítése.
