Sándor-Metternich-Kastély

A bajnai Sándor-Metternich-kastély mai formájában egy klasszicista épület képét mutatja, ám a kutatások során bizonyossá vált, hogy több építési periódusa volt. A mai épület helyén már a 15. század végén, a 16. század elején egy nemesi udvarház állt.

Bajna és a falu közepén elterülő kastély több évszázadon keresztül adott otthont a Sándor családnak. Bővebben

I was here for a film shoot - not as a tourist, but this is a really special, beautiful place.

I just visited on 6 of February 2022. A renovated palace from the 18th century for an aristocratic family of Sándor. You could feel adn enjoy the details of the 18th and 19th century through the rooms of this palace with very good informative panels for everything in Hungarian and English languages, in addition to the presence of a virtual reality technique of riding a horse and jumping over barriers, as well as having headphones to listen to some of the explanations recorded in video, music, etc., and touch screens that you can see the details of the reconstruction and restoration of this building.

The castle was recently renovated, clean and features a part of history. Although the greenhouse isn't finished yet, the surrounding park offers places to relax, learn about local flora and fauna and a playground for children.

Beautifully restored mansion with a rich history going back to the 16th century. You can take a stroll in the surrounding park and enjoy a rather expensive coffee and cake in the shop inside. Be sure to check out the Raffaello room and the gorgeous frescos on the ceiling, among the many rooms with other relics, trophies, and paintings.

A beautifully restored castle well worth visiting. There are free guided tours, only in Hungarian though. Perfect for families. Has a very nice coffee shop, too. Parking is in the free parking lot by the entrance.
