★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A község legismertebb személyisége vitéz Simon Elemér, Sopron vármegye főispánja 1922-35 között, a Nemzetközi Vöröskereszt elnöke volt. Az ő tulajdonát képezte a csáfordi kastély parkkal, amely ma szociális otthon, valamint a védett erdő. Emlékét a Szociális Otthon homlokzatán elhelyezett márványtábla őrzi.
 The best-known figure of the village was the valiant Simon Elemér, the chief of Sopron County between 1922-35 and the president of the International Red Cross. He owned the Csáford Castle Park, which is now a social home, as well as a protected forest. A marble plaque on the facade of the Social Home preserves its memory.
