ocha Arpáda Socha zobrazuje vodcu v stredovekom odeve.
ocha Arpada The statue depicts a leader in medieval attire. The figure is three meters tall and stands on a two-meter pedestal. The statue itself and the base paneling are made of limestone from the Hungarian village of Süttő. The pedestal shows the names of seven Hungarian tribes and the name of the leader Arpad. Arpad was the chief of one of the seven Old Hungarian tribes, the Hungarian tribe (Megyer). In unreliable medieval chronicles, we read that around 887, the Arpads in Etelköz elected seven Old Hungarian tribes for 20 years as their common chief. Thus the Old Hungarian tribes took the name of the largest Hungarian tribe, and since then they have been called Hungarians. Arpad allegedly died in 907.
