Currently, only those with a certificate can visit their relatives. The inside of the building is laundry clean. The hospital has many different departments.

I don't even know where to start? I arrived here on June 10, 2021. A little surprised at what awaited me. I don't even want to insist on things. This frenzy soon passed. My package was taken to class by a nice young man. The ward was greeted by 3-bed rooms and smiling lovely-faced nurses. The excitement subsided. The head doctor received me in her room and we talked about my illness. I was a little amazed and stared at how there is one? Do people count patients? Are the doctors and nurses kind? I calmed down. The next day I also met the physiotherapists. Real energy bombs and huge monitoring of patients there. Down with the hat in front of them too. A small familial medium develops in the patients. between doctors, nurses and other workers. I spent a fantastic 21 days at the State Heart Hospital. I can only recommend it to everyone. The history of the State Heart Hospital in Balatonfüred dates back to the 18th century. century, when it was written in the census of the Tihany abbey in 1716 that there were sour waters in Füred. On the site of the hospital, Miksa Tenkovits had a plot of one and a half acres, the source of which was the construction of a bath house and the provision of bathing to guests in sour water heated by a boiler in 10 bathtubs. After his death, his widow sold the spa to doctor József Schuster in 1741, who operated it until his death in 1748. In 1749, the entire area was leased from his heirs to Ágoston Lécs, the abbot of Tihany, who, according to the inventory given in the contract, took over "... bathhouses, cauldrons in them or copper pots and bathtubs for water heating ...". On July 30, 1759, Abbot Lécs permanently bought the property from the widow and laid the foundation of the acidic spa with 7 smaller bathhouses and 23 bathtubs. The first building on this small settlement was built in 1765, the so-called Old house on the east wing of today's hospital. The fires of 1826 and 1834 affecting the Healing Square also significantly damaged the building and the bath facilities. In 1835-1836, based on the plans of János Packh, the so-called A new bath house connected to the Old Bath by a covered corridor. In 1842, a two-storey, so-called a cross-country house was built for the Old Bathhouse. Between 1869 and 1871, according to the plan of Bernát Cometter, a beautiful new wing overlooking Lake Balaton was built in an eclectic style. Elizabeth Court. Later, the whole building ensemble was called the Elizabeth Sanatorium. In 1912-1913 the so-called. The uniform building was formed with the wing of the Tibor Bath, and the facades were also redesigned in Art Nouveau style. At that time it was already an internationally famous sanatorium, and it is no coincidence that in November 1926, Rabindranath Tagore, the great Hindu poet, also sought healing here in Balatonfüred. In 1949, the institute came under state management and operated for decades as the State Hospital. Between 1962 and 1968, the hospital's equipment was modernized and transformed into a cardiological rehabilitation center for those suffering from heart and circulatory disease. The old building complex was expanded in 1979 with new modern building wings, bringing the number of beds to over 600. The area around the hospital is a protected spa area. Based on the results achieved in the field of healing, Balatonfüred was declared a spa town in 1971. The Balatonfüred State Heart Hospital has been providing rehabilitation treatment for cardiovascular patients since 1970 as part of national and regional care. The coronary protection unit established for the safe care of patients has been providing emergency care for acute cardiological diseases since 1972 (600 cases / year). We have been conducting clinical cardiac electrophysiological examinations on a regular basis since 1981. Definitive pacemaker therapy was started in 1982, followed by ICD implantations in 1999. Our interventional cardiology activities were completed in 1999 with coronary angiography, and from August 1, 2003 with percutaneous coronary interventions (PTCA, stent implants).

The State Cardiology Sanatorium (Szívkórház) is the largest facility of its kind in Hungary with 429 beds. The effects of the local healing water have been known since the 17th century. The town was officially declared a spa in 1772. Kossuth Lajos forrás and other springs around the hospital contain free and bound carbon dioxide, iron, magnesium, potassium, bicarbonate, calcium, sodium, sulfur and other minerals. Water from springs with a temperature of 14 - 15 ° C is drained into the spa building, where it is heated to 32 - 34 ° C and then used for treatment.

I only saw its appearance and its surroundings. Elegant, well-kept, reminiscent of the old beautiful world of a hundred years ago.

Unfortunately it turned out that I had to enjoy the hospitality of the hospital ... From the first minute, however, I felt that I was in a good place, being taken care of. Thanks and thanks to all the nurses, doctors and everyone who works there !! The quality and taste of the food was not the usual in the hospital. I got a lot of understandable information during the lectures, help with lifestyle changes after rehab. There was cleanliness everywhere. I can only say the best based on my personal experience! Thank you all for your work !!

In the Rehabilitation Department, Dr. Simon and Dr. Lugosi, Chief Physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and all the staff who, with their incredible professional and human attitude, kindly helped a patient with a "fresh heart attack" recover.
