Széchenyi Mauzóleum

This is a lean building. One of its older parts was built in 1778 in Baroque style. It was around this time that the champions of enlightened absolutism, Maria Theresa and II. Joseph, the hatter, sat on the throne. They, for reasons well understood by us, ordered that the cemeteries be moved outside the village. This happened in 1778 in Nagycenk. Between 1806 and 1819, Mr. Széchényi also experienced an external classicist for the baroque chapel. Restored Doric columns, quadrangular and relief miracles. The foyer is made magnificent by a coffered ceiling and ion columns. We then pass through the baroque oval domed inner chapel, where Dorfmeister frescoes can be seen. From here you must descend, like Orpheus, into the realm of Hades, the crypt. Above the stairway down there is the eternal truth: "We were like you, you will be like us: dust and ashes." As we reach the crypt, an Aryan of laurel wreaths escapes before us. This is where the selfless giant of the homeland, Count István Széchenyi, rests. The 3 metal laurel wreaths shown here were brought here by the grandmother of Hungarian theater, Mari Jászai. Every year, when bees slumped their busy dances among the flowers of the linden tree, he came here. When he was wreathed for his magical art, he also brought the wreath and recited the beaten lines of János Arany: “You are not dead either, the great dead of my people! The cenk's tomb is not hidden at all, Your division is still mourning the family. Oh, because where is such a balm? We get up: Pain comforts. The mourning of a nation is not only oppressive, A glorious and exalted people, We have to live in faith, law and strength! ” Next to the count rests his faithful wife, Seilern Crescentia. Among them is the glass coffin of Archbishop Pál Széchényi of Kalocsa. The archbishop of the waist tried to mediate during the Rákóczi War of Independence as a friend of peace. Thus, 6,000 mourners appeared at the “under the grass” funeral. Over the next 3 days, another 50,000 made pilgrimages to the tomb. As I stood in front of the garrison of wreaths, a picture jumped in front of me of a “Jókaija” of the Polish fraternity, the Little Knight of Sienkiewicz. The hero is buried there in the middle of the church, surrounded by his mourning people. Suddenly the drum sounds. A voice asks what it asks, commands it to rise because its homeland needs it.
