Már a török idők előtt is búcsújáró hely volt, állítólag a pécsi török basa szembaja is elmúlt a forrás vízétől. 1718-tól Radanay pécsi püspök a pálosokra bízta a zarándokhely gondozását, akik feljegyzéseket készítettek a gyógyulásokról, és az ide érkező emberekről. Kápolna és kis rendház is épült, aminek ma már romjai sem láthatók. Az 1930-as évek végén a kút fölé harangtornyot emeltek, és a falmélyedésbe festett szobrokat és gyertyatartókat tettek. A település a 19. század végén alakult ki. Sok hétvégi házzal és kerttel bővült. A P sáv jelzés vezet el északi végén, a harangtorony mellett. The settlement belonging to the city of Pécs is located at the northern end of the Szentkút spring, next to the Pécs-Abaliget road. It was a place of pilgrimage even before the Turkish times, it is said that the face of the Turkish basa of Pécs passed from the spring water. From 1718, Bishop Radanay of Pécs entrusted the Paulines with the care of the pilgrimage site, who kept records of the healings and the people who came here. A chapel and a small convent were also built, the ruins of which are no longer visible today. In the late 1930s, a bell tower was erected above the well and statues and candlesticks painted in the recess were made. The settlement was formed at the end of the 19th century. It has been expanded with many weekend houses and gardens. The P lane sign leads to the north end, next to the bell tower.
