A szobort az 1713-14-es pestisjárvány leküzdését követően állíttatta a város, Anrath Henrik kófaragó által, akinek munkáját közel 50 év múlva Benchardt András, majd 1908 körül Kiss György szobra váltott fel. A szobron a klasszikus Atya-Fiú-Szentlélek, Szűz Mária, angyalok szokásos megformálásán felül igazán érdekesek a pestissel összefüggésben felállított szentek. Dél-keleti sarkán Szent Rókus, a legfőbb pestis-szent, északi sarkán Páduai Szent Antal (aki az eredetileg megformált Szent Rozáliát váltotta) és a dél-nyugati sarkon Szent Sebestyén szerepel. Az oldalakon látható domborművek újszövetségi jeleneteket ábrázolnak.
The statue of the Holy Trinity in Pécs stands in beautiful condition and shape and marks the center of the city and the main square. The statue was erected by the city, after the plague of 1713-14, by the carpenter Henrik Anrath, whose work was replaced almost 50 years later by the statue of András Benchardt and then around 1908 by György Kiss. In addition to the usual formation of angels in the statue of the classic Father-Son-Holy Spirit, Virgin Mary, the saints erected in connection with the plague are really interesting. On the south-east corner is St. Roch, the chief plague saint, on the north corner St. Anthony of Padua (who replaced the originally formed St. Rosalia) and on the south-west corner St. Sebastian. The reliefs on the pages depict New Testament scenes.
