Very pleasant trip ?

At the top of a hill rising east of the village of Máriakéménd today, after the Mongol invasion, around 1273 Győr built a castle in Konrad, Óvári. It was a fairly pitiful fate: first, the personal conflicts with the head of Baranya County, and the confusing domestic political situation after the extinction of the Árpád House, caused fights here. János Herczegh Szekcsői, who occupied the castle from 1316 to 1330, also destroyed the fortress, which, although it was royal, was never rebuilt. Currently, above the surface, the former walls of the castle can be seen with a shorter flight.

You have to start from the Törökvári resting place on the uphill slope! Rows of benches and piles of rubbish await the wanderer here. The benches will remain as I hope, the other creator… Well, that can go! According to the sign, the ruins of the castle are only 300 meters here. What is it for me? I get it like a Little Sphere… As I started, I felt like I was stuck in the stepless version of Ágasvár in Mátra here among the gentle hills. An endless row of wooden stairs led up, up, up… Since some of the stairs were missing or wandering at the border of non-existence, I grabbed a stick. Although it made me more stable, it did not increase the vital capacity of my lungs. The fat burned, the sweat flowed normally in the heat of late April. I thought I had reached the top. I believed this a good three times. I always realized it was even higher, of course after a little slope for the sake of taste. Even my favorite flower, the fragrant hellebore, didn’t reveal the “winter of my displeasure”. When I reached another downhill stage a good half hour after the start of the “ascent,” and my lips were just forming a selected twist, my fellow hiker exclaimed, “I have the castle!”. A good 4 meters below, a stone wall was flooded with a stone slab, according to which here is the Turkish Castle. Well! Not a grandiose memory! After the descent, I turned to the green bar sign with a screaming thigh muscle, where I returned to Máriakéménd after a good half-hour corrosion.

The resting place is very cozy, it is surprising that we can discover such a cool thing in such a not very well known place! A small part can be seen from the wall of the castle, the rest was unfortunately not excavated by archaeologists. The past of the place is interesting. I only dared to go into the beginning of the Hermit Cave, I would not recommend it to anyone else. I really liked it, it's nice to go in nice weather, the view from the top of the hill is amazing!
