★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little place near downtown of Budapest with exceptional Hungarian cuisine. Very rustic interior and nice little garden on the street. Service was fast and professional, and prices were very reasonable. Delicious food and good beer. Warm recommendation if you are in the neighborhood.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this place to feel the real Hungarian spirit. Sadly, the staff wasn't as friendly as we could expect, and the service wasn't anyhow prompt. Also the tea-cup had a chip and looked totally worn-out. All in all, the food was quite okay for such a fair price

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived there before 19:15 without reservations. But afterwards, there were no tables for people without reservations. The wooden platter was huge and delicious! The goulash was good too. The interior was vintage and cozy. Enjoyed the time there!

I’d go here again for their goulash tho, the taste was exquisite

After 5 long minutes waiting at the entrance, no one came to the welcome us and we add to get in and call the staff to request a table if possible. Staff unfortunately not friendly at all, we wait for almost 1h to get the plates so if you’re in a rush, do not go there. The food was ok but you can definitely find something better than there. I cannot personally recommend this restaurant for the experience that we had.

Ordered the Knuckle in Baker's wife style with steak potatoes (56) and Grilled neck fillet of pork with garlic and Hungarian fried bacon with steak potatoes. Washed down with Dreher Beer and Apple Cider.
Exceptionally good prices!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Even if we came without reservation they tried to find a place for us and were very kind. Food was very good. The goulash soup tasty and big portion so we could not finish the sponge cake. Definitely we can recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice choice if you’re into real Hungarian food. There are many options to choose from, so take your time. Ask the staff and they will help you.we had no reservation, but it was not rush hour and we managed to get a table outside. It’s a calm street so don’t expect a lot of noise.
Food was good, the only downside maybe was that service was a bit slow and the espresso is not good.
