★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Cog Rail is a little known gem in Budapest. I strongly recommend the journey up the hill to the Children’s Railway, a Soviet initiative to train children to work on railways. It still operates on a narrow rail today. The Cog railway uses metro tickets so a day pass or greater, or a single ticket is used here. It’s in a very different area of Budapest; go and see it!
