R	Roberto Martinez-Parachini on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a nice castle with a little bit of history. It would be nicer if it was better organized and easier for us to understand the museum. The view is beautiful. This is where the Danube makes its turn to go south and then go towards Budapest. There are also plenty of restaurants down the hill where you can have lunch after you’ve seen the museum. If you’re a hiker you can also hike or even bike around there. Make sure you go to the bobsled not far from the castle.

The ticket prices are very low, and you can get a view on the royal palace, there are multiple videos helping you imagine how the palace looked in different times and also how was the life in the palace through the centuries. If you are in Visegrad thisnusnhighly recommended :)

This appears to be ongoing work, so I will return perhaps next year to witness the progress. A fantastic place to visit with children.
T	Thuggie Duckie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was there during the local knight festival in July--lots of tiny little shops that sold pretty much every thing from knight gears to garden ceramic flowers and beer (loved the red beer). There were medieval exhibitions and performances on every corner of the castle and nearby it.

Back in 1335 kings from Hungary, Checz and Poland and many dukes like from Bavaria, Croatia, Teutonic order... gathered here and make arrangements for peace and trade in the area. Most important event of 14th century. The palace fell in decline after Turka defeated them in 16th century. They sure are making effort to restore it. U can see how palace was in three floors, royal chambers, kitchen, gardens. A lot od things are replica, like the fountains, but in the....dungeons there are originals....well what is left od them. In more recent history those three countries remade old friendships and there group in EU is called after this town, Visegrad.
