The statue inside the fountain is actually the first public square sculpture erected by Budapest (private sculptures existed before it, of course), made by Charles Senyei in 1896. Then the pool around the statue became a simple circle. I used the vernacular known as the "guy pouring fountain," but the kids still holding the water container is nothing more than a shell cavity under the feet of children standing in a turtle sticking out, and also the back of the statue appears in a fish vertically upward jump / standing, and a lobster climbing up, so nothing could be further from the creator than displaying a "cauldron". Between 1945 and 2000, the statue was banished to Dagály Beach by a Soviet aircraft memorial. When it was returned in 2000, the water pool was recreated by stone sculptor István Fáskerti. The edge of the pool is also a bench that a small child climbed to reach the water while I was there. Perhaps many did not sit there because the water spraying from the well was still cold in April, but it could be wonderfully cool during the summer months. I don't know why, but for me the two smiling / laughing kids seem a little straightforward, as if they were half-hearted.
