The statue of Captain Ferenc Wathay invokes an astonishing power with his warlike appearance as one of the gems of the Prohászka Grove. Interestingly, in earlier descriptions, his name was even written for Wattay (also on the boards on the base), but nowadays it is called Wathay.

Statue of Captain Ferenc Wathay by sculptor Lux Elek. The statue was erected in 1937, but was unveiled in 1938 to commemorate the 900th anniversary of St. Stephen's death.

The statue was created by Elek Lux in 1937, the bronze cast was made by Ferenc Krausz.
Set up in 1937, opened on 19th May 1938.
It was renovated in 2011-12 (Balazs Kocsis) together with the foundation at, into which stones from the old castle were to replace the old bricks.
