Zádor-híd

A magnificent and imposing structure that has stood unbroken in the middle of nowhere for many decades, a few kilometers from Karcag, at the former salt road. The bridge is a real masterpiece. One wants to cross it and look at the current landscape formed after the river regulations, to imagine the watercourses and bogs 200 years ago - a fantastic experience! I can only recommend everyone to visit here at least once in their life!

This will not be a tourist attraction either. And it's worth walking away so far. On foot! Because it can only be reached by car in summer, in dry weather. It was a little muddy - so in October - but it was worth it because of the air.

Wikipedia minutes: Prior to the flood regulations, the capricious Zádor River supplied water to the swamps of the area. Providing traffic in the area was a constant difficulty, so in 1804 the superiors of Karcag thought it necessary to erect a permanent stone bridge over the watercourse, instead of the old embankment, which would allow passage throughout the year. The foundation stone of the so-called Zádor Bridge was laid on November 27, 1806 and was already put into circulation in 1809. The original nine-hole bridge also served as a model for the Hortobágy stone bridge, completed in 1833. The completed Zádor Bridge had been besieged by the waters for twenty years, but it could not withstand the flood of 1830, swept away the two extreme pillars. The bridge was later rebuilt and rebuilt to its present five-hole shape. The constant waters have since disappeared and the bridge has been left without water. The protected area is divided into hundreds of meters by the Karcagi-I Inland Canal, which runs parallel to the historic bridge.

The 4 stars are only in the wilderness because of the quality of the road leading there, I wouldn’t dare take it in rainy-muddy weather. ? However, the bridge itself is a beautiful monument, which was built earlier than the one in Hortobágy, it is worth seeing! By the way, the wildlife in the environment is also worth a Mass! ?

The dirt road is difficult to drive by car, even in dry weather, the stony road is fragmented and pitted. The bridge is a historical monument, worth seeing and the wasteland that surrounds it.

A 5-hole brick bridge was built on the south-western edge of Hortobágy between Karcag and Püspökladány.

Nice monument. It could be fixed a little. It used to be painted in the past, it's just worn out. The road to that is pretty bad. Anyone who doesn’t feel sorry for their car can go in dry weather, otherwise they would get stuck if there was mud. The driveway is almost unusable, cracked, potholeed. It doesn't last. Next to it, the dirt road is dusted off, especially after the agricultural machinery. The landscape is beautiful, to the left is Hortobágy. In the distance you can see a kunhalom.

Awesome. We really liked it. A little renovation would be worth it, but it's still nice. It looks very good in the wilderness. The way to get there is also good in my opinion, it fits into the landscape. ?
