Very nice building. It is a beautiful, meaningful exhibition in the heart of the city.

We were at Munkácsy's exhibition, which I really liked. Images can be seen in close proximity. Although lighting could have been better, it was a great experience.

It would basically be a very beautiful building if it were restored (Since its walls are crumbling). However, outside of its appearance, I am sorry that it is no longer used as a regular synagogue.

We were at the Munkács exhibition with my former colleagues. I love his paintings. His work is one of the greatest in my thoughts, and I think in the crisis. I like to see this kind of audience in many cities already. It is a very valuable exhibition, especially that it is out of reach of school-age children.

Now the Szolnok Gallery is in operation. Until 7 April the Munkácsy exhibition can be visited. It is beautiful in the building, in a pleasant environment, at the Tiszavirág bridge.

Szolnok, Synagogue The large representative synagogue in the Tisza-side grove is today an exhibition hall. It was built by Lipó Baumhorn in 1898. The exterior floor plan of the building is rectangular (19.83 X 34.19 m) and the interior synagogue space is square (17.95 X 17.85 m). In the design, the student Ödön Lechner Baumhorn used his master's motif system (the dome is very similar to the dome of the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts), but also used Italian and German style elements. Its characteristics are the triple arch of the entrance foyer, the accentuated central axis is the large round windows, the semi-circular, symmetrically placed twin windows. The first Jewish families settled in Szolnok around 1830. They could only get into the city at first as merchant merchants, but under the existing regulations, they had to leave before nightfall. By 1818, 60-80 families lived in Szolnok, and by 1850, the community had already been established. His birth register has been kept since 1851. In 1927, a community of 2,500 people lived here.
