Sokat áldozott arra, hogy kedvenc hazai, és külföldi növényeit idehozassa.
Egy 'tündérkertet' álmodott a fenyőfák árnyékába.A kertépítés 1922-ben kezdődött. A kert egy sűrű borókás részén temették el a kívánságának megfelelően. Munkájának folytatója dr. Nagy László erdőmérnök volt, aki a két hektáros kertet 76 hektáros arborétummá fejlesztette.
