A Benevár étterem története

A Benevár étterem megépítése és megnyitása szorosan kapcsolódik a mátrai turizmus XIX. század végi fellendüléséhez.

1887. május 15-én a gyöngyösi városháza dísztermében alakították meg a Magyarországi Kárpát Egyesület Mátra Osztályát. Ügyvivő elnökké a közkedvelt gyöngyösi ügyvédet, Hanák Kolost választották. Még abban az évben elkészült a Gyökeres-forráshoz és a Szent László-forráshoz vezető turistaút. Két évvel később a Mátra Osztály hintójáratot indított a gyöngyösi vasútállomásról Benére, az 1889-ben megnyitott Benevár vendégfogadóig.

1890-ben Gyöngyösösön megalakult a Villaépítő Részvénytársaság, amelynek földbirtokos, bankár, kereskedő és építésztervező, vállalkozó tagjai 1890-1914 között 29 egyéni és 10 ikervillát létesítettek Mátrafüreden.

Bene vára, illetve romja mint történeti, turisztikai nevezetesség ugyancsak ezekben az években válik közismertté. Kandra Kabos (1843-1905) művészettörténész, levéltáros, nem mellesleg katolikus pap 1889. augusztus 15-én olvasta fel Benén „Bene vára a Mátrában” című tanulmányát, mely megjelent különnyomatként is, másodjára pedig 1904-ben Egerben az „Adatok az Egri egyházmegye történelméhez” könyvsorozat III. kötetének 2. füzetében. Munkáját a következő mondattal zárja: „Bene történeti hely volt és leszen ismét”

But i a rlittlebit was sad because of glasses :) i handle the items littlebit more criticism tha others. So this is only a personal negativ. Others may not expirience these, i did. So i was drinking directly from the glass my Cola :) but the food was very well cooked, served, so finally its a good place. Good prices, maybe a littlebit expensive.. but its near to kékes, Hungary's hoghest point.

The food was very mediocre, some of it spent hours under a heating lamp- the venison stew and the sauce I got was dry from a heating lamp and had a hair in it. The rice we got was hard and the other stew very small and not tasty at all. The beer was good though;) in the end we did not get charged for the venison stew... Hence 2 stars

Waiters were basically kind, but it was very sad, that during Covid times, seating order was so strange: half of the restaurant was empty, the other half was full and had only 1 empty table. We were asking to be seated into the empty part (7 of us), but it was refused. We were seated into the middle of the crowd. With backpacks, a dog, tired after a half day trip, it wasn't the most comfy thing to settle between two crowded tables with zero space.
