Great meal. Obviously fish heavy menu and they know what they are doing with the vast variety of fresh fish that's on offer. Food was excellent, wine list is superb, with fabulous local wines. Service was also excellent. Most of the restaurants in this area have outdoor seating - make sure you call ahead for a reservation or you will be inside - which isn't bad at all, but outside is better.

I don't have enough words to praise the taste, the staff and the quality of the food. Hat off to the chef! There was nothing from what we ordered that I can not describe as amazing. PS. Our order: rockefeller oysters, pulpo a la gallega, hungarian fish soup, fish&chips, grilled: turbot fish, prawns, calamari and Saint Jacques. ??

Honestly, I am not the person who will drag down one’s reputation for a mistake. BUT PLASTIC IN THE FOOD ALREADY 4 TIMES IS NOT OKAY! (With warnings) I must state that I really liked the restaurant, ate there many many times in both of their locations. BUT! There are facts. I experienced it already 4 times, that I have found plastic in my food. Sea food 3 times and once dessert. This time it was inside of a calamari, therefore part of it I ate…and on the picture you can see the rest of it… I can’t understand how is it possible to make such mistake so so many times after knowing about it. (Maybe it comes like this to the restaurant , it doesn’t matter as the restaurant’s responsibility to make sure that the food is consumable) You may still eat there as the taste of the food is okay, but for such price I won’t be eating plastic anymore. Thank you!

Nice seafood restaurant right near the Szechenyi bridge in Budapest. Great selection of amazing dishes for you to enjoy. Stop in for some great food, wonderful staff and a nice time.

I have mixed feelings as 3 stars should mean it was ok. In Hungary dealing with seafood doesn't really have a culture. I tried 3 courses tonight so did my wife and my choices were almost good. The starter was nice but too spicy. I didn't feel the taste of the seafood because the dressing was much stronger. I wasn't bad but not I was expecting. The second dish was a seafood curry and I ate similar in Jamie's Italian. The spices were way too strong in this case also. In Jamie's I felt the seafood here I almost didn't. The evidence of nice tastes was only the salad coming with the curry. That was going very well with everything and it was a perfect mix of vegetables fermented spices and fresh spices. This is why it was an overall good experience but nothing special. I have to say they have good wines as well. We tasted the local whites and they were nice. My wife ate better dishes, the oysters were good she really liked it. The salmon was also done nicely. The deserts did look nice and tasted nice. Again, it was not bad. The service were polite but very slow. Maybe the kitchen was swamped on a Monday night. We spent more then 90 minutes there.

Bigfish offers the freshest seafood and shellfish selections in Budapest. The founders have fantastic taste and standards for selecting quality fish products. I couldn't include my oyster selection because we finished with it before I even thought of taking a picture. Most products are only available on the grill (not charcoal but teppanyaki). Some of those fishes could taste better steamed or meunière. Extensive use of olive oil feels a bit unusual. It could be on the side in a bottle with some balsamic vinegar instead of soaking the plates. However, the overall experience was good. I first visited the Bigfish at Andrassy, then the one near the river. If you would like to have seafood in Budapest, Bigfish is the number one go.

There are two bigfish restaurant in Budapest. I tried both of them. I felt this bigfish has more fancy vibes with nice atmosphere. (Another one was also nice) They have fresh oysters what is the one of my favorite. Besides, there are lot of selection for fresh see foods. I always tried grilled lobsters, octopus and some salad. Highly recommend to visit if you like see foods :)
