If you don’t speak Hungarian don’t waste your time and money. Paid 4,800HUF for 2 people and it’s the price just for the entry ticket, you have to pay extra if you want to see e.g the wax figures. It was hard to find anything since there is literally no information in English. There are some tours to the underground but only in Hungarian and you can’t go there by yourself because it’s locked. The castle itself is under heavy construction (pictures attached), lots of places are fenced off. Toilets are out of service, staff at the information desk spoke poor English. The only think we liked was the place where you could see the firearm and military equipment from the past.

We had a wonderful time walking around and seeing the castle fortifications, as well as the exhibits, which fortunately have English text in addition to Hungarian. There wasso much we missed out on, though - costumed performers demonstrating life in the time of the Castle's heyday, it appeared. It would be wonderful if they occasionally had the performance in other langauages, but at least perhaps a flyer with some translated information?

Great old castle with some of the displays in English, but all movies are in Hungarian and the lady selling tickets doesn't explain in English. So you have no idea what you're buying and what is included, the first exhibition was not included and the guy only answered with "extra".... Even worse was the chamber of heroes which only opens for groups and when we were in the suppost was rudely asking to get lost. If tourism is encouraged like this it will never work. Also a lot of parts of the castle are not accessible, coffee is served like motoroil, no cakes or pastry to get, but that is of minor importance.

Since most of the exhibitions are closed, it’s not worth visiting. Got a student ticket for 1k HUF, so I guess it was fine. If you are planning to visit, you need to wait for the end of the renovation, as I think it will give much more for money. I think it can be a super cool location once it has everything open and working. Beautiful views on the city though

For the reason on ongoing renovations, the castle currently rather looks like a construction zone then an authentic building, yet I'd still recommend buying a ticket and going in. I'd say it's normally priced and you really have a great view from there which is already worth it. The finished buildings look rather nice but I'd choose to visit when the smaller museums are open as without them, it's 30-45 minutes attraction.

The castle is very charming, with big ramps, wide walls and much space inside. You can visit the fortification system with exhibitions. Some parts are also interactive for kids, plus some movies or animations. Cool views over the city center. Too much construction work.

It is under construction right now, but the view is still great from there. We really liked the weapon museum inside the turret. The price of a ticket is cheap, we were getting there a little before we could have bought the cheaper ones, but the full price was still worth it to be honest. One ticket was 1200Ft.

After arriving from Budapest at noon, and a nice lunch, the first thing was to visit Eger Castle. One can spend the entire afternoon there. It was most enjoyable, informative as well as a walk back in time. Worth a visit and to spend about 4 hours.
