★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The zoo is bigger than it looks from the outside. The animals are treated well, although some cages are rather small. Would have rated 4/5, but +1 for the exoticism of the creatures.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While winter isn't the best to visit a zoo, I try to visit the local zoo whenever I travel.
The Debrecen zoo is located in the "northern" part of the city near the stadium and university and easily connected using the #1 tarm.
The zoo itself isn't big but still fun to walk around it. Not the biggest animal collection out of the zoo's I visited but still fun to spend few hours around.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place to watch different animals from different continent. You can find penguin, giraffe, lion, tigers, racoons, emu, piranhas etc and some exotic animals. It's a great place to spend a day with friends, family and kids. There is also an amusement park, mostly the rides are for kids and few rides for adults.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lot for the kids to see at the zoo and my kid had fun at the amusement park. Animals seemed stressed though, many of them walking back and forth at the fence. Several rides broken at the amusement park and those operational seemed quite run down.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful palce with a lot of animals, is worth to bring the kids here to see the animals in real life. Also the staff is really polite and respectful.
There is also a fun park with a lot of activities for the kids.
