A parkot 1972-ben, Budapest 100. születésnapján nyitották meg. Érdekessége, hogy a mai napig itt található fákat pedig az európai városok vezetői ültették saját kezűleg, egy-egy olyan fafajtát választva, amely jellemző az országukra, de elviseli a magyarországi klímát is. Az évek óta romosan álló ligetet a kerületi önkormányzat 2017-ben felújította, kellemes rekreációs park lett. A parkot Buda, Pest és Óbuda egyesülésének 100. évfordulója emlékére nyitottàk meg. Az európai főváros neveket ekkor tették ki és a fővárosok vezetői ültették a fàkat, melyek bírják a magyarorszàgi klímát. Very nice peaceful park at the foot of the Vàr walls in Buda. A nem régen fölújított ligetben több európai város kőböl készült fölirata és az illető ország éghajlatára jellemző facsemete található. Sajnos a Sebők Zsigmond meseíró emlékére állított "Mackó úrfi Róka komával" című szobor már nincs itt. Visszakerült azonban Kodáy Zoltán szobra. Az ország egyik leglátogatottabb helyének tövében, mégis abszolút csendes, nyugodt környezetben, szép park, remek szórakozó, pihenő, sportolásra alkalmas hely. A Bécsi kapu mellett, de még kint. Kocsival is jól megközelíthető, de a busz is ott áll meg. A parkolás megoldott, este 6-ig díjköteles.
