Graceful service, delicious food. As a vegetarian, food choices are often tricky to find. The Gellert brasserie delivered with panache.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered the "spareribs", very gourmet, not American barbecue traditional ribs. Cooked perfectly, hard to do with pork, very moist tenderloin of pork slice sitting atop a grilled sweet potato, with a savory lentil sauce garnished with puff rice sticks. Truly tasty and just the right size serving. Salad was a mix of fresh herbs and greens with shaved beets and radishes and cherry tomatoes. Delish. The chef gets a hat tip from me. Was pleasantly surprised since the dining room was completely empty. Local Hungarian merlot was also full of flavor. From this Californian red wine drinker, I was impressed. Will come again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible place with exeptional service and delicious food. It might be a bit more expensive than you'd like but it is worth it. We had amazing gulash and best tasting wild boar meat. Everything was tasty and served quickly, by a waiter who would advise us as to what would best suit our expectations. I highly recommend it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me and my girlfriend were there for lunch. Great experience! Skillful and kind staff, savoury and almost gourmet kitchen, nice local beer tastes! Best dish: beef meat with savoury-sweet puree and tender buttered bread.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place definitely feels like it's for locals, but that can only be a good thing. The food is really good, the chef really knows what they're doing and our waiter was really really nice and spoke superb English (also they have an English menu). I don't think I can stress enough how glad we are that we found this place.
The food was so amazing that we forgot to take pictures. They also have some outdoor seating for smokers and a really cool old map of Buda on the wall outside.
Also in terms of pricing this place is way beyond reasonable. Waaay better than the tourist traps in the center. (For reference it was around 15k forint for 4 people including 3 deserts and beers).
If you have accommodation nearby do not hesitate to eat here.
In terms of the other reviews, come here and expect eating good HUNGARIAN food, not burgers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We waited an hour for our food and when it came it was cold. The soups (goulash and potato) and cabbage salad were tasty but cold, and the chicken paprika was also cold, the chicken was not a fillet it was just bits put together, and there was a hair in the noodles.
They seemed to wait to fill a trolley with food and then take it out. We asked after 45 minutes how much longer it would take and they said just a few minutes as they are loading the trolley... they said they were very busy, but there were tables empty still. The staff were nice, but it was a major disappointment.
