A padon 2006 óta ül Habsburg Frigyes főherceg bronzszobra. Úgy ül ott, mint 1920 és 36 között oly sokszor. Kedélyes, könnyen beszélgetésbe elegyedő ember volt. A szoborhoz közel a Fő utca és a Deák tér sarkán áll a Habsburg palota, melyet az 1700-as évektől az 1900-as évekig építettek, szépítettek és bővítettek. Az csak hab a tortán, hogy erkélyéről, ahogy a tábla írja: „Kossuth Lajos 1848. október 23-án erről a helyről beszélt 4000 kaszás paraszthoz.” Ez nem piskóta!
