Old hotel, needs some maintenance and investment. Restaurant is good, personnel has some nice people but most of them are not nice to costumers (the pool guy is actually very rude and unpleasant)

The hotel is well overpriced for its quality, but you accept that you actually pay for quasi unlimited food, and having access to a pool and a private beach, which is a nice thing at the crowded Balaton. The reason I only give one star is the above mentioned pool. When we arrived, we were thrown straight into the joy of an aerobic 'animation' program. I patiently waited for it to be over, hoping for some peace and quiet afterwards. What a mistake! No, this hotel's management makes it a point of their branding to not give you a SECOND of quietness. No, by the pool you will be exposed to hour after hour after hour of music. My mistake: not exactly music, no. Do not imagine a DJ mixing for you, alternating music styles to fit different tastes, no! Their boxes blast at maximum volume the Radio Balaton broadcast, which is a mix of Latino music (think endless versions of Despacito), news, advertisements to wine festivals and whatnot, Hungarian 'mulato' (a kind of urban gypsy music), and redundant hits from the 90s. It is essentially disgusting. I left the pool with a splitting headache and dizziness from the intense volume of the music/radio. I was hoping and praying for at least one hour of silence. Why is it so hard to understand people in their holidays want some moments of quietness? If you want however to entertain them with music, why use the radio, and not some mixes or even YouTube playlists, fitting more tastes than the fat guy with finger thick necklace and his family? (By the way, the mere fact they use the radio gives you a clear indication about from which age are the hotel's furniture, fixings and general outlook). If you insist on using the Radio, why blasting it at maximum volume? And why not allow your clients' brains some well deserved moments of silence, from time to time? All this for over 150 Euro per night :)

Very good hotel, I stayed here for a week and I enjoyed it a lot. The service is great, the food is excellent and you have plenty of it. The staff is very welcoming and understanding to help you with any problems you have in the hotel. It is very spacious and good looking, having indoor and outdoor pool, park, spa, a lobby and much more. I highly recommend coming at this place if you are willing to visit Balatonfured, as you can easily visit any places around.

The shower curtain pole fell and hit a member of our group had on their head while showering. A truly saddening experience as they are older and this upset them quite badly. I lowered my score to 1 star from 2 because of this. All baths had an overhead shower inside with a telescopic style shower pole that holds up a shower curtain. Please take care if you tuck the shower curtain into the bath. Good location, but for £150 a night the hotel is so disappointing. We were checked in by a nice lady. She had good manners and was friendly. We booked a double bed with balcony and got 2 single beds pushed together with a view of a roof. Honestly, who wants to fall into the hard gap in the middle of 2 beds pushed together? The other room in our group wasn't ready for the check in time of 2pm so we had to adapt our plans. The first thing I noticed when getting into the room was that the cramped bathroom smelt of urine. From the layout of the hotel it would appear that rooms will mostly have poor views of the lake. The TVs have terrible picture quality. There are modern, well working air conditioning units in the rooms. The hotel is dated and while it has been maintained, there are things that stick out. From what I experienced in my room, the chipped paint, marks on the wood of the shelves, mildew, marks on the paint around light switches, etc really make the hotel more of a 2 star place and not "superior". It reminds me of a Butlins in the 90s. Breakfast and dinner was included. I don't eat meat. I could eat the food. It wasn't exciting or healthy but it was edible canteen style food. I would not be able to find a meal to eat if I were vegetarian and gluten intolerant, or vegan. Included is access to their private beach. It's okay. They also have a swimming pool which is 1.3m deep. It is nice for a quick dip and kids that can swim unaided. There are also single sex saunas in the ladies and men's changing rooms. I have worked in hospitality and lived in Hungary for long enough to know that I bought into the idea of what the Annabella is. It is a well known, "prestigious" hotel, in Balatonfüred which is believed to be a posh area of Balaton. The Annabella will continue to be booked because it has a good location and reputation but it truely suffers because there is a small group of people who benefit solely from the Annabella staying exactly as it is instead of changing to make the stay more enjoyable for the customers through modernisation. I am revisiting Balaton for the fourth time this year next week and will stear clear of the Annabella. I will happily pay the 950 forint (£3) to access the private beach that is up the road and visit the local restaurants and stay at an Airbnb where I know where my money is going.

From a hungarian guest. This hotel is good value for your money. It is idiot to put up unreasonable so highexpectation for rhis type of money. The management is ,I am sure, very much avare of the shortcomings here a there and it is ridiculouse all those complaines from peoples visibly looking for something to complain. The establishment is well positioned close to the lake and fitted with everything needed for holyday (in this price bracket)no problem with staff, cleaniness and specially with the food.I am sure the management is avare of when the time is there, upgrading will happening. All those whom unhappy with the service for this price welcome to find accomodation in other countries like Bulgaria or Romania. For me this hotel give me all what i have expected and for what i have paid for. And now I am going to have my tasty supper.

If you like the ‘80s you are in luck, this hotel is a trip done memory lane. We had the exact same bath room 30 years ago at home - as did all other households back then. The location, the pool, the access to a private beach and the sheer amount of food makes a bit up for the vastly outdated and slightly overpriced hotel. Overall good, 3 stars for a 3 star hotel.

Thank you for a pleasant stay in your nice hotel. The staff was helpful, the food excellent, the rooms clean, although a bit retro (I like retro!) - simply a good value for money. The only thing I could point out was the weak sound insulation and such a detail as the TV - if there is already a TV in the room, it should take into account programs that are intelligible to clients from the surrounding countries. :)

Surely not! four stars. Mediocre food. A testimonial to its socialist heritage. Real pain. Booked two nights for €250 or so. ‘You have to pay upfront.’ Really? I did. Then, I left after the first night, but I received ‘we can’t compensate because you booked via booking.com’ bs from reception. Then, I cancelled via booking.com (‘we will ask hotel to be forthcoming’) but received ‘the hotel decided it won’t accommodate you.’ This hotel is an overpriced rip-off.
