It happened last year! - worst experience I spent one night in Queen Mary Hotel. I chose this place as it is in the VII. Dictrict in Central Budapest. Everyting is just a walking distance away (Andrassy street, Erzsebet square, St. Stephen Church, Vaci street etc). My room was ready at 2 pm and the recepcionist was very helpful, kind and friendly. I found my room and the hotel a little bit old-fashioned. But my room was clean and nice. The bed was alright, nothing special. The breakfast is just a quick –easy breakfast, a little someting to grab. You can choose from cereal, yoghurt, rolls with marmalade etc and coffee+orange juice+tea. I would say everything was alright. The employees worked hard to keep up the hotel. But hotel owner is very different. He is a kind of boss who used verbal abuse on his staff. The owner is pretty rude and a bit agressive and he can loose his temperature so easy. Obviously the owner cant deal with his guest and his staff too. I can speak Hungarian so I could understand everything and I was pissed off to hear the boss (owner) talking to his recepcionist. I really dont believe that verbal abuse is a way of achieving the good service. The boss was blackmailing the recepcionist and told him „You can pick up your coat now and leave. You do a bad a job here”. And the worst thing is everything happaned just in front of me. I am sorry but If you have problem with your people try to solve it after the working hours and try to be diplomatic. Altogether: Location is great, hotel quality is alright, but old-fashioned, staff is excellent, boss is awful.

Looking good but air conditioning not working and staff not so helpful - it was hard to get breakfast for our group before 7 o'clock when it normally starts. During weekends in some rooms very loud music getting from local clubs and it is hard to sleep.

The hotel is in a good position, very close to the metro and 20 min from the city center by foot. The rooms are big enough and fairly clean, nice bathroom and beds. The breakfast was a bit limited but nice. Overall i would suggest this hotel.

Rooms, service at reception and food at breakfast are OK. Location very good. Free and good WIFI. Two bad things : 1. staff at breakfast restaurant. 2. I felt. Like a school boy. Reception is observing when you leave and when you come back AND with who you come back. Only one key per room. No key card. Real. big key.

The girls at the reception were friendly. Apparently I had the best room with the terrace but I could hear the traffic. Asked to change the room but apparently there is a club at the other side and its noisier. Towels are changed every three days! No bin in the room! No do not disturb sign ! Everything is basic and the hotel is old. I do not recommend it and I made a last minute booking and ended up here.

Nice place and convenient location. The parliament and Danube River are on about 30 minutes by walk. There are a lot of restaurants and shops around. Nearby there is a bus, tram and trolleybus connections. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is also good. The staff is polite. The only small negative is their slow reaction when we need to add some hotel toiletries. When the liquid soap finished we waited till the next day, and had to remind them a few times. But overall, for that price is very good!

First of all , recieving the guests was so bad and unfriendly. We were so disappointed. Second, the Wifi most of the time disconnected. The room and the bed are uncomfortable. The neighborhood is unclean and we felt unsafe. The breakfast is 2 slices of salami and cheese. We wanted to leave this hotel but we couldn't cuz we already paid, the pictures really deceived us. We enjoyed our time in Budapest but this hotel ruined the joy for us.

Well connected, super friendly front desk staff, nice room with a very good mattress, well cleaned, spacious. Definitely we recommend it!!
